what happens when....

you mix a neuroscientist with paint, brushes, ink, graphite and paper and give her more downtime than she has ever had before...

i started painting many years ago as a way to switch off from the world. unhindered by any knowledge of materials and techniques i happily dabbled once or twice from year to year, responding to whatever was in my head. and then suddenly i was faced with more time than i knew what to do with, a brain that was trying to heal and rewire my peripheral nervous system, learning to walk again and a stream of creativity that didnt want to stop. the artwork on these pages is every bit as much about my recovery as it is my creativity.
